# Charging batteries and poles

## Do the batteries (PowerPack and PowerPole) need to be charged before first use, and what are the charging times?

Yes, you must connect each PowerPack and PowerPole to the supplied chargers to activate them, as they are shipped in hibernation mode for safety. The PowerPack Charging Time is **3.5 hours**, and the PowerPole Charging Time is **1.5 hours**.
